New World Learning Academy is thrilled to announce we will be holding Summer Clubs for First Lego League (FLL) K-5th grade competitive teams. FLL is a robotics program for students ages 6 – 12. Robotics and programming are only part of the Challenge. Team members will use research and presentation skills as well as their teamwork skills. Robotics goes hand in hand with our STEM Initiative and use of the Engineering Design Process.
About First Lego League (FLL)
A FLL competition centers around two main parts
(A) The Robot Game (1/4 of the points) and
(B) The Project (3/4 of the points)
Robot Game – During the robot game, students program an autonomous robot to perform specific tasks on a game board.
For the Project portion of the competition, judges look for a solution to a problem. There are 3 areas that teams will be judged during the project.
- Project – Identify a problem and present a solution to the problem.
- Presentation – The team displays an original way to present information learned during research.
- Team Work – A team is given a problem to solve (think Pictionary), how do they solve the problem as a group
